Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club have signed off this season with unprecedented success.
On Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, they won a dramatic final in the Cyril Thompson Trophy Final on the last ball of the game against Chawton in a nail-biting match at May's Bounty.
The 1st XI had secured promotion to the Southern Premier League, a long-standing goal of the club, by beating Hayling Island on August 17 to go up as champions of the Hampshire 1st Division.
The team, lead by Jack Malden, remained unbeaten until the last match of the season on Saturday, August 31 when they suffered a shock defeat to Ferndown, some might say that they had one eye on the end of season party held that night as they had already been crowned as champions before this match began.

Finally, Odiham and Greywell Women’s 1st XI also won their Hampshire Division 1 by beating Hursley Park on Sunday, September 1 to be crowned women’s champions as well.
It has been 13 years since OGCC entered the Women’s Hampshire League and several members have played significant roles in driving forward women’s cricket. The two most recent Heads of Women’s Cricket, Liam Schooling and Paul Downham have devoted a lot of time and energy into making the club one of the most appealing for women to play for and the level of training has been exceptional.
Every successful team needs a strong leader and in Becky Hartnett, the club has been fortunate to have a talented and popular cricketer who has forged a team with great skill and belief.
An OGCC spokesperson said: "The club would like to thank all the captains, coaches and other volunteers throughout the club who have helped to build Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club into such a strong force over recent years.
"They would also like to thank all their sponsors, including their key sponsors: Lord Wandsworth College and The Rawlings Group who have given such valuable support over recent years."
