A FREE event for people with dementia, their families and carers aims to ‘bring the joy and healing power of music’ to individuals.
Let’s Sing will be held at Milestones Museum on Wednesday, September 18 from 2pm to 3.30pm to enhance the mood and stimulate memories through song for those impacted by dementia, or anyone who is lonely.
The event, provided for free by Home Instead Basingstoke in partnership with Milestones Museum, will run every third Wednesday of the month, except during school holidays.

Those attending will have free entry to the museum.
The sessions will start with a cup of tea and a chat from 2pm with singing starting at 2.30pm for an hour.
Janet Walker, community champion at Home Instead Basingstoke, said: “To witness people suddenly emerge from their dementia to sing along to songs they remember from yesteryear is an absolute joy.
“Each session is opened by local dignitaries or people who offer valuable free support for the most vulnerable members of our community.”
Anyone interested in attending should register via email with their name and number of tickets required to community@basingstoke.homeinstead.co.uk.
