THE Equinox will be celebrated at a new event held at a woodland venue near Basingstoke with music, talks, wild swimming and a woodland sauna.

EarthPercent presents Equinox at Wasing – just a 25 minute drive from Basingstoke - from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22 paying homage to nature’s transition to the autumn.

The three-day weekend event at the Berkshire venue will give those attending the chance to fully immerse in nature and enjoy an incredible musical line-up curated by Brian Eno including Nitin Sawney, Shpongle, Younger Brother, Sam Lee, Hayden Thorpe and more, alongside talks from The Psychedelic Society, Breaking Convention and Urge Collective.

The Equinox will be celebrated at WasingThe Equinox will be celebrated at Wasing (Image: Wasing EarthPercent) On Friday, renowned American mycologist Paul Stamets is making a rare UK appearance at the Equinox for a much-anticipated talk, there will also be an array of guest speakers and panellists from the Museum of Consciousness.

The time of the Equinox itself will be marked with a ceremony at 1.45pm on Sunday, led by multi-instrumentalist and ceremony leader, Omer Gonen-Haela.

Brian Eno, an English musician, songwriter and record producer, who curated the festival, said: “Equinox is an exciting collaboration with the folk at Wasing. It will be a deep dive into nature connection and the importance of protecting this precious planet.

A one-off intimate performance in Wasing’s Sacred Glade will be given by Nitin Sawhney – one of the most distinctive and versatile musicians of his generation who has achieved international acclaim across creative mediums – who will be joined YVA on vocals and Aref Durvesh on tabla and dholak.

“Playing the Fireside Sessions is an artist’s dream. Surrounded by nature, around the fire, I couldn’t hope for a more beautiful environment and for such a great cause,” said Nitin.

Joshua Dugdale, custodian of the Wasing Estate, said: “Following the success of our event at Summer Solstice, this new event, Equinox, represents the next step in our evolution where we celebrate those who are working so hard to protect our planet.”

For each Equinox ticket sold, five per cent will be donated to EarthPercent charity which works to meaningfully address the climate and nature crises.

Tickets cost £65 for adults for the Friday only or £160 for the weekend. Children aged up to 12 can go for free.
