Three animal rescue organisations are coming together this weekend to raise awareness and support.
Helping Dogs & Cats UK (HDCUK), Helping Wildlife, and Kekis Guinea Pig Rescue have joined forces to address the growing need for animal rescue services in the area.
Kirsty Wrightson from HDCUK initiated the collaboration and all those involved have said they are ‘thrilled’ to see to see their efforts gaining momentum.
In an unusual move, the organisations have also acquired a food truck, which they have named Betty, to help raise even more funds.

On Sunday, September 8, they are holding an event at the Sycamore Centre to give people an opportunity to witness the hard work of the rescues’ dedicated teams.
A particular focus of the day will be raising money for Peaches, a dog currently in the care of HDCUK, which urgently needs surgery for hip dysplasia and leg correction, with an estimated cost of £8,000.
A HDCUK spokesperson said: “Despite our efforts, we've only raised £676 through our GoFundMe campaign. Your presence and support can make a difference.
“Together, we can give animals like Peaches the second chance they deserve. We look forward to seeing you there.”
During the day, which runs from 12.30pm, people will be able to enjoy an afternoon tea, tombola, raffle, kids craft table and a meet some guinea pigs.
