The best areas in Basingstoke to buy a property with a garden have been revealed in new research.

MG Timber and Online Marketing Surgery have created the Garden Space Report which helped rank areas based on their home outdoor space.

They used data from the Office for National Statistics about access to gardens and public green spaces in the UK.

This was used to find the neighbourhoods with the most and least garden space in Basingstoke.



Basingstoke best and worst areas to buy a property with a garden

According to the research from MG Timber and Online Marketing Surgery, the best areas in Basingstoke to buy a property with a garden were:

  1. Woolton Hill, Burghclere & Bishops Green - 3,442,708 metres squared (home garden space area)
  2. Old Basing & the Candovers - 3,269,541 metres squared
  3. Kingsclere & Heath End - 2,868,920 metres squared
  4. Bramley, Sherfield & the Sherbornes - 2,514,736 metres squared
  5. Tadley East, Pamber & Silchester - 1,944,161 metres squared


Meanwhile, the worst were considered to be:

  1. Brighton Hill - 316,730 metres squared
  2. Kings Furlong - 336,349 metres squared
  3. Basingstoke Central, Black Dam & Eastrop - 346,410 metres squared
  4. Houndmills & Oakridge - 387,353 metres squared
  5. Popley - 406,928 metres squared

Overall average house prices in Basingstoke were said to be £350,321 according to Rightmove, with detached properties sold for an average of £526,718.

Meanwhile, according to Zoopla Basingstoke house prices were £348,574, with detached properties selling for an average of £529,993 in the last year.

Rightmove added: "Overall, sold prices in Basingstoke over the last year were 4% down on the previous year and 3% up on the 2021 peak of £338,882."
