A packed line-up of live music, comedy, theatre, and family events waits for Basingstoke residents and visitors this Autumn at Proteus Creation Space.

The forthcoming season will see performances from both renowned and emerging musicians, stunning theatre and light-hearted events.

Three gigs will be hosted by The Basingstoke Music Initiative (BMI), starting in September.

The headliner is the London-based punk-infused alt-metal band, HAWXX.

The BMI curates live music events to support young talents and thriving local artists.

Upbeat indie rock bands will keep the atmosphere energetic in October while an acoustic line-up will create a relaxed atmosphere in November.

The stage will also be lent to theatre and performances from the Edinburgh Fringe, including Proteus' recent production 'Indestructible'.

After a successful stay at Omnibus Theatre last year, the show is now preparing for a UK tour.

"Before the show hits the open road, we want to share with our home audience what we have worked hard on," said a spokesperson for Proteus.

Viewers can also look forward to 'It’s the Economy, Stupid!', a provocative new show from Fringe First winning creators Joe Sellman-Leava and Dylan Howells due at the end of October.

November will see the Brendan Murray play 'Round The Twist', featuring a blend of Dickens' finest characters.

Family entertainment is high on the agenda.

Proteus will present 'Town Mouse & Country Mouse', an Aesop’s tale narrated with puppetry, music, and enchanting designs towards the end of November.

For Halloween, they are hosting a Fun Morning once again, filled with crafts and games from 10am till 12pm.

There are several events lined up for adults.

"The Late Night Assembly always brings you a glittering, hilarious, and boozy night out, from Cocktails and Playdough to The Late Night Assembly Cabaret," added a representative from Proteus.

This season one of those events is Cockta-Doodle-Do, a life-drawing event.

The model will be burlesque performer Turkish Delight while Musical Bingo promises an evening of laughter and prizes.

To bring in the festive season, a Christmas Wreath Workshop is set to take place.

Visitors can make their own wreaths with materials provided at the workshop.

The Scratch Built x Proteus Christmas family show is scheduled from December 7 till Christmas Eve, promising an immersive and interactive experience.

Ticket sale dates for the show, 'The Christmas Elf Inspector', will be announced soon.

Tickets to all these events can be purchased from Proteus’ website www.proteustheatre.com.
