SOUTH Western Railway is changing its timetable for some routes in Hampshire for the autumn season.
Due to falling leaves, the rails can become slippery, meaning some trains must depart earlier to allow for slightly longer journey times.
SWR has confirmed there will be minor changes to the service linking Basingstoke and London Waterloo from Sunday, September 22, as well as a number of other services in and around the county.

In a statement on their website, SWR said: "We operate an autumn timetable in response to leaf-fall season. This is when wet leaves fall on the rails and are then crushed to a slippery pulp, meaning trains need more time to safely accelerate and brake.
"Some first trains of the day will also depart earlier than normal. For example, the 4.54am service from Basingstoke to Woking will depart at the earlier time of 4.51am."
