A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and on suspicion of driving without a licence or insurance after police pulled over his Toyota Prius.

The 18-year-old suspected drug dealer was pulled over by police while driving a Toyota Prius  on Alliston Way, Buckskin, after they noticed "suspicious activity."

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Saturday, September 7.

Police searched the vehicle and seized suspected Class A drugs and £450 in cash.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and also on suspicion of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of a drug offence following a proactive stop in Basingstoke.

"Officers spotted suspicious activity on Alliston Way at around 8.30pm on Saturday 7 September.

"They searched a Toyota Prius and found suspected Class A drugs and £450 in cash. All items were seized.

"An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.

"He was also arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

"He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries."
