Lychpit Community Residents Association, Old Basing and Lychpit Big Turkey Community Lunch, Old Basing Open Duke of Edinburgh Centre, Old Basing Cubs, Old Basing Cavalier Scouts, and 1st Old Basing Rainbows also participated in the annual event.

In addition to the above groups, Linguatastic Language School, Basing Royals FC, Old Basing Men's Breakfast Group and Old Basing Baden-Powell Centre for Scouting and Guiding helped out for the summer's carnival.

A spokesperson for the carnival said: "All of the above groups played a significant part and helped to make the day a success."

Contributions will be presented to various organisations associated with the village and shared at the Carnival’s Annual General Meeting at Old Basing Village Hall on Thursday, September 19, which starts at 7.30pm.

The meeting is open to all residents and members of the public. However, each of the groups receiving donations are asked to attend or send a voluntary representative to receive their share.

The money was raised in part from bucket collections, which were carried along during the carnival parade, as well as from the main arena event and stalls held at the Recreation Ground.

The event included a steel band and craft tents with vintage cars on show and BBQ and tea on offer. There was a bar for the adults, as well as Punch and Judy for the younger audience and a fun fair for everyone to enjoy.
