A FREE-to-attend fete and dog show are taking place this weekend.
The T&T Pet Field and Cafe in Overton is hosting a Fun Dog Show and Fete on Saturday, September 14 from 11am to 3pm.
The show is being organised by Maggs Steward, manager and proud mum to almost one-and-a-half-year-old Chester the West Highland White Terrier (or Chester the Westie for short).
Since starting at the T&T Pet Field and Cafe a couple of months ago, Maggs coordinated an open day on 16 July for Chester and his four-legged friends, which was a huge success! There were over 80 different dogs, and more than 180 humans, who turned up to enjoy the occasion. Providing plenty of opportunities for the pet photographer to snap pictures.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Next on the agenda is a Fun Dog Show and Fete, being held on Saturday 14 September from 11am to 3pm at the Cafe. The area of Overton has not had anything like this for a while, so Maggs (with much enthusiastic support from Chester) decided it was high time for it.

Entry to the Fete is free and all are welcome. The Fun Dog Show will feature 8 different classes including “Best Treat Catcher” and “Best Junior Handler”, as well as a rosette for “Best in Show”.
The Fete will have 25 different stalls run by locals. There will be a cafe and food stall for the humans, as well as a licensed bar for the over 18 humans. There will also be dog treats for the canine friends and Trevor the Puppy Slide for the little humans to enjoy.
So far around 50-60 dogs have pre-registered to enter the Fun Dog Show. But unfortunately, Chester will not be allowed to compete himself due to a potential conflict of interest. Although, he is still more than happy to cheer on his new friends that he has made since his mum Maggs started managing the cafe and wish them well from the sidelines.
