AWE has opened applications for its Early Careers programme for the 2025 intake.
Around 10,000 applications are expected for the 534 places available, covering apprenticeships, a 12-month industry placement, and AWE’s Evolve graduate scheme.
A separate application window for degree apprentice schemes will open in October.
The programme offers the opportunity to work on science, engineering, technology, and business projects, contributing to the UK’s defence and national nuclear programmes.

Kerry Thompson, AWE’s head of early careers, said: "We were delighted to welcome our 2024 intake of hugely talented young people from diverse backgrounds – our largest increase in fact, across the programme - and we’re now looking to next year’s programme.
"We invest heavily in our Early Careers programme, as we do in ongoing professional development throughout people’s careers at AWE.
"There are more options available to young people now and we are competing with industry and technology for those with valuable STEM and business skills.
"We’ve worked hard to attract, engage, cultivate, and empower the next wave of talent to contribute to the delivery of our mission and provide a robust pipeline of critical skills and ability, both now and in the future."
