Hart District Council has launched a £50,000 grant fund to help community groups support those most in need during the coming winter months.
Organisations can bid for up to £5,000 from the Cost of Living Support Fund for projects and activities that benefit Hart residents struggling to make ends meet.
The new grants follow a successful scheme last year that funded cooking sessions, food pantries and parcels, young people drop-in sessions and community hubs.

Cllr Stuart Bailey, portfolio holder for community, said: “As the cost of living rises, it’s vital we continue to support organisations in our community working to reduce inequalities and improve the lives of people who are most disadvantaged.
“There are huge pressures on many of our residents right now and that has a far-reaching impact on their health and wellbeing. The new scheme is designed to fund local projects that will make a significant difference to local people.”
Eligible organisations will need to clearly identify how their project will have a positive effect on the community. Successful groups will receive funding by the end of October.
