Adam and Ken started the business in May 2023 after the pair met through an amateur brewing club in Reading.

Ken, who works as an artist and decorator, won a competition for his home-brewed beer to be produced and sold at Burghfest, an annual beer and music festival in Berkshire.

At the festival, Adam met Andy Watts from Little London Brewery in Silchester, who inspired the pair to start the beer company at the same brewery.

"We have wanted to do something for a while, but with the current financial state, we couldn't drop a bunch of money on a brew kit, so this has been a great way for us to grow organically," explained Adam, who works as a cameraman in the film industry.

The open day was held at the brewery, located in Ash Park, and ran from 12pm until dusk.

The event featured a selection of nine brews, including beers made in collaboration with local breweries,as well as a street vendor and a delicatessen in addition to free tea or coffee and soft drinks for designated drivers.

Adam added that they have been 'very proactive to get out and meet people' but the event was the 'first time we've been in a position to welcome people into our lovely home'.

In addition to Mysterious Brewing, a number of other businesses at Ashe Park opened their doors, including Classic Coachworks.

The family business, run by Ian Castle and his wife, supplies body kits and transforms BMW Z3s into classic cars at the workshop in the business park.

Ian said the open day was 'fantastic'. He added: "It was fantastic to get involved with Mysterious Brewing and have a little bit of our own open day too.

"A super well-organised little event"
