What a revelation in our local Gazette, "Council offices up for sale for £2.5 m".

Well, a 2.6 acre site is hardly that of Cambridge or Oxford universities. I would have thought it better to have any future University nearer the present technical college in Worting road.

The Parklands building has a deserted air about it. I have noticed police cars parked here, should this be handed over to them?  Offenders could be better dealt with here, rather than being driven from the other side of town where the present facility is.

So, where are the present council offices going to be moved to? Winchester!

Presumably ones of the present size are not required because of the increased working from home. Or, will our counsellors have their committee meetings back in the town's historical town hall?

Yes, meetings can be online, hardly the same thing as being obliged to work from your possible tiny bedroom, with in some cases screaming children!

Sorry, but all this has hardly been thought through. It is my habit to drop my council tax into their red mail box. Why should I give that up?
