BASINGSTOKE’S fifth McDonald’s restaurant is opening in the town tomorrow.
The fast-food chain is officially opening its newest branch in the town at Hatch Warren Retail Park at 11am on Wednesday, October 2.
McDonald’s initially wanted to open the new restaurant 24/7 but it withdrew an application for the opening hours following objections from residents, who raised concerns about antisocial behaviour, noise and traffic.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said it had ‘listened to residents’ concerns’.
It withdrew the application on September 4, meaning the new branch will not be allowed to open overnight or serve food between 11pm and 5am.
A spokesperson for the chain told the Gazette: "We are excited about the opportunity to open a new restaurant in Hatch Warren.”
The restaurant will be inside a unit previously occupied by Poundstretcher, which has remained empty since the store closed in October 2022.
It will be the fifth McDonald’s restaurant in Basingstoke with others at the Top of Town, Brighton Hill Retail Park, the Leisure Park, and its newest branch at Chineham Shopping Centre, which opened in May this year.
