A BAR is seeking approval from the council after building an outdoor seating area without the required permission.
A raised outdoor seating area was constructed outside Alchemy Bar & Lounge at the Top of Town, however the bar did not seek permission to build it beforehand.
The seating area features raised wooden platforms with plant installations and a number of benches.

Alchemy Bar & Lounge is now seeking retrospective planning permission for the work.
Retrospective planning permission is a process that allows you to apply for approval for work that has already been done on a property without the required permission.
Roderick McDonald, principal conservation officer at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council said that the council has no objections to the application, as it enhances the area: "With regards to the above reference, the HET raise no objection to the application as arguably the proposals represent an enhancement to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area and the setting of other heritage assets.
"No additional conditions are suggested. Kind regards Roderick McDonald Principal Conservation Officer Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council."
