Basingstoke residents have been asked to put on their aprons and fundraise for Marie Curie this autumn.
The UK's leading end-of-life charity, Marie Curie, is calling on all bakers in the town to help raise 'much-kneaded dough' by signing up for their autumn baking fundraiser.
Participants can host their own bake-off challenge, cupcake decorating competition, cake sale, or pie-eating contest.
Upon signing up, Marie Curie will send participants a special recipe pack with autumnal bakes from Melissa Hemsley, the Hairy Bikers, and Fay Ripley.
Bakers will also receive resources such as posters, social media graphics, and invitations to help make their fundraiser a success.
Fay Ripley, who supports the campaign, said: "I find myself yelling 'use your loaf!' at everyone and anyone, so now I’ve used my loaf - my banana and chocolate loaf in fact! - to support Marie Curie with their important work."
Ella Jackson, Marie Curie's community fundraiser for Basingstoke, said: "Whether you’re crazy about chocolate cake or partial to pumpkin pie, this autumn Marie Curie is making raising funds for expert end-of-life care a piece of cake."
Marie Curie provides hospice care and a free information and support line for those with terminal illnesses and their families.
