It's officially October, meaning Halloween is just a few short weeks away. 

As the nights get darker and the days get colder, families will be looking for something to lighten up their days out, especially during half term. 

From The Vyne to Lush, there are several events taking place at the end of the month to keep everyone occupied. 

Take a look at the list below to see what's on offer in and around Basingstoke. 

The Vyne Halloween Pumpkin Trail

  • 26th October- 3rd November

The Vyne's Tudor house ground floor will be hiding some very special pumpkins that glow this Halloween. 

Outside, visitors are invited to have a go at pumpkin patch bean bag and ring toss as well as noughts & crosses.

As well as the standard admission fee, it will cost £2 per trail sheet.

Twilight in the Woods at Ewhurst park

  • 26th October 4:45pm- 7:30pm

Perfect for all the family, with opportunities to carve pumpkins and take selfies with scarecrows before exploring nature in darkness. There will also be woodland crafts, scavenger hunts and spooky surprises. 

There will be a boathouse BBQ where visitors can enjoy quality meat and toast some marshmallows.

A family ticket costs £40. 

Festival Place Trick or Treat Takeover

  • 6th October- 3rd November

Meet wizards and witches on a delightful trick or treat trail as you hunt for pumpkins hidden around the centre.

If you solve the secret pumpkin puzzle, Festival Place has promised a tasty reward.

Willis Museum by Torchlight

  • 30th October- 5:30pm-7pm

Ever fancied exploring Willis Museum after dark?

Visitors are invited to see the museum in a different light this Halloween. 

Halloween costumes are optional and the cafe will be open to serve up hot chocolate. 

Lush Halloween Party Experience

  • 26th- 31st October

Join Lush for some seriously spooky activites! Make your own potions and bath bombs, play some scary games and take a goody bag on your way out!

£10 a ticket booked via Eventbrite.

Milestones Museum Halloween Trail

  • 26th October- 3rd November

Milestones Museum is inviting visitors to take part in their Halloween trial to spot who is haunting the buildings. 

The cobbled streets will be transformed with eerie effects and decorations. 

Proteus Creation Family Fun Morning

  • 31st October 10am-1pm

Join the Proteus’ annual Halloween craft morning and create some scary decorations guaranteed to spook your neighbours. £6 per child.

Watercress Line Wizard Week

  • 26th October- 3rd November

The Watercress Line is hosting a special Wizard Week this half term. 

Visitors are encouraged to hop on board the Wizard Express train and walk in Harry Potter’s footsteps over the bridge where he receives his Hogwarts Express ticket.

Activities include spooky story telling, magic tricks and even a wand-making workshop. There will be a slime laboratory and a fancy dress competition too. 

Tickets cost £14 for children and £27 for adults.
