'STOKE's starboy has returned.

As previously reported, former Basingstoke Town Football Club star, Brody Peart, 19, made the jump from non-league to the Premier League, climbing seven divisions in the football pyramid to sign for Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2023.

Having been released from the Seagulls this summer, Peart signed for League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers on July 1.

Now, 'Stoke have announced that their wonder kid has returned for a brief loan spell to help get back to match fitness.

In a statement on the club's official website on October 2, a spokesperson said: "We’re thrilled to announce the return of Brody Peart on a 28-day loan from Wycombe Wanderers FC.

"Yes, it’s true—the boy is back.

"Brody, our Basingstoke Academy graduate, made a name for himself with standout performances during our treble winning season and before.

"Brody made his ‘Stoke first-team debut at the age of just sixteen. His talent attracted interest from numerous Football League clubs, and he ultimately joined Brighton & Hove Albion. He then went on to join the ‘Chairboys’ (Wycombe Wanderers) ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Brody shared his excitement about rejoining his boyhood club, saying: "I honestly can’t wait to pull on that shirt again. Anyone who knows me understands how special this club is to me.

"It gave me a huge opportunity, and I hope my performances can repay that. Whilst it’s amazing to be back, I know I have to focus and work hard for the team and my development.

"The boys have already had a fantastic start to the season, and I’m determined to contribute. But there’s no denying, I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone out there again.”

Manager Dan Brownlie was just as enthusiastic about Brody’s return: "I got an unexpected call from Wycombe on Thursday morning.

"Before Sam [Wycombe Wanderers] could even finish asking, I was already shouting ‘yes’ down the phone.

"It’s a real joy to bring him back. His connection with the club made us an obvious choice for a loan agreement, but Wycombe also cited the way we play will suit his progression in us readying him for his return.

"It’s incredibly rewarding to be seen as a club that can help bring out the best in talents like Brody. We’re here to support him and ensure that when he returns to Wycombe that he’s in the best place possible to challenge for a position."

Brody will be available for 'Stoke's FA Trophy fixture with Taunton Town on Saturday..
