Motorists have been facing long delays on the A340 Aldermaston Road between Basingstoke and Tadley due to ongoing maintenance works.
The road is currently partially closed at Sherborne St John village, with traffic being allowed through in one direction at a time.
This has resulted in lengthy queues in both directions —towards Basingstoke Hospital and Tadley.
During peak hours, drivers reported waiting times of at least 30 minutes.
The congestion is expected to continue throughout the evening.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes if possible.
