A MANOR house could be demolished and replaced with more than 100 new homes.

Redlands House, and its associated outbuildings and garden, in Sherfield on Loddon, could face demolition in the near future, as developer Bellway submitted a request for screening to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The proposals come as part of Bellway Homes Limited's 'Land at Redlands Phase 4', having previously built in the surrounding area, the developer is seeking approval to submit an application for the next part of the project.

A total of 110 homes are proposed to be built on a 6.4 ha site that lies to the north east of Basingstoke, and comprises a grassland field and the currently vacant Redlands House and associated outbuildings and garden in the north west corner.

The formal screening request was made as to whether the proposed residential development at Land at Redlands Phase 4, Sherfield on Loddon constitutes an environmental impact assessment (EIA).

It proposes vehicular access via a connection into the land to the north, which will allow vehicles to join the A33 at the existing Redlands phase 1 arm of the Taylors Farm roundabout.
