A new nightclub will open its doors in Basingstoke at the end of this month following a major refurbishment of a Top of Town venue.

Named Labyrinth, it will be located at 26 Winchester Street - the unit that was formerly home to Fever and Boutique Nightclub.

The place is undergoing a £500,000 refurbishment ahead of the grand opening on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31.

There is also a massive launch party weekend planned for Friday and Saturday (November 1-2).

Epic Bars and Club, the new owners behind the venue's reimagining, promise the venue to be Basingstoke’s premier nightlife destination, featuring three levels, two clubrooms, and two DJs on rotation.

This is how Labyrinth will look when it opens on October 31

The venue will be employing around 50 new staff.

Duncan Squires, company director, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing our Epic brand of magic to the town of Basingstoke.

“We’ve got something so extraordinary planned for this venue as we take it into a next chapter as our new Labyrinth location. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we create.”

Speaking to the Gazette, Mr Squires said Epic is excited to take over the venue with the change in late night party climate.

Epic has 18 other sites across the country. Its portfolio includes the Labyrinth sites in Bath, Guildford and Windsor, and the Trilogy sites in Bangor, Blackpool, High Wycombe and Southampton.

Epic has also acquired sites in Andover, Camberley, Colchester and Hereford from Rekom UK.

Fever and Boutique opened in Basingstoke in 2016 before it had to close amid Covid lockdown regulations.

With nightclubs told to remain closed during lockdown, bosses worked to reopen the venue as a bar instead, operating table service and closing the dancefloor.

However, the venue was forced to shut again after bars and pubs were ordered to close at 10pm.

Before Fever and Boutique, the venue was occupied by Italian restaurant Cafe Piccolo before it was taken over by Zeus and run as a nightclub for four months.

There will be a guestlist and VIP system available for the launch weekend of Labyrinth.
