A frightfully fun programme of activities is on offer for children in Basingstoke this October half-term.

Love Basingstoke Presents is making a return to the Top of Town, offering a range of activities for children aged two to 16.

The activities, including potion making, pottery painting, and dinosaur adventures, will run daily from 11am to 3pm, between Monday, October 28 and Friday, November 1.

The Frightfully Fun Fling Fest, featuring ghost tossing and foam axe throwing, will launch the week on Monday, October 28.

A variety of Halloween activities will take place during half term (Image: Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council) Craft workshops, Lego workshops, and face painting will also be available.

On Tuesday, October 29, children can get creative with pottery painting and slime-making sessions.

A pop-up caving experience, trick or treat bag decorating, and a comic walkabout by the (Miss) Fortune sisters will add to the fun.

A school for witches and wizards, magic wand-making, potion-making, and Halloween crafts will keep the children entertained on Wednesday, October 30.

Six giant dinosaurs will roam the Top of the Town on Thursday, October 31, alongside a pumpkin trail and a Dino Dome with a 360-degree film screen.

The week of activities will conclude on Friday, November 1 with Jack O'Lantern's Story Time, Diwali arts and crafts, a gaming van, and pop-up laser tag.

Cllr Kerry Morrow, cabinet member for sports, leisure and culture at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, said: "There are so many free activities to help families get in the Halloween spirit and the chance to try something new this half-term. There really is something for everyone."
