A FAMILY festival in Overton is celebrating after being nominated for two awards at a nationwide competition.

CarFest, which is held every summer at Laverstoke Park, was nominated for the Best Medium-Sized Festival Award and the Best Festival for Families Award at the UK Festival Awards 2024.

The event, held from August 23 to August 25, featured a star-studded music line-up with guests including former The Smiths guitarist, Johnny Murrs, singer Olly Murrs, Sam Ryder, band Scouting for Girls and more.

A spokesperson for the family festival said they are 'very excited' about the nomination' urging visitors to vote if they 'had a blast' at the event.

They added: "Your votes mean the world to us! Let's make it happen."

The UK Festival Awards were first established in 2004 by Steve Jenner from Virtual Festivals.com.

The public-voted awards, which are sponsored by events company Ticketmaster, aim to celebrate a wide variety of festivals across the country about anything from music to comedy.

Awards include Best Large Festival, Best New Festival, Best Non-Music Festival, The Grassroots Festival Award and more.

Festivalgoers can vote for their favourite nominee in each category before a shortlist is published on October 24.

The festivals that have made it onto the shortlist will then be judged by a panel of industry experts to decide the winners, which will be announced at the ceremony on December 3.
