A renowned orchestra will perform a revered set of concertos in Basingstoke next month.
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) will perform Bach's Brandenburg Concertos 1 – 6 at The Anvil on Tuesday, November 12.
The performance will spotlight the collective virtuosity of the OAE, showcasing the complete set of six concertos for various instruments.
The concertos, originally a gift from Bach to the Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721, are celebrated for their brilliant instrumental combinations and a never-ending stream of memorable melodies.

The concert will include the intricate passage work for strings in Nos. 3 and 6, the grandiose harpsichord cadenza in No. 5, and the trumpet's dazzling virtuosity in No. 2.
These elements demand a supergroup ensemble of virtuosos and provide a showcase of the composer's orchestral writing skills.
The concertos were filed away for unknown reasons by the Margrave, changed hands multiple times, and were 'lost' until around 1850 when they were published as a set.
Tickets for the concert are available at varying prices, from £17 to £45, with discounted prices for under 25s and full-time students.
