A new play about a historic meeting between Winston Churchill and Neville Chamberlain is set to be performed.
The Lion and The Unicorn will be performed at Arlington Arts Centre on October 19.
The play, written by Robin Hawdon, is set on the evening of October 13, 1939, six weeks after the Second World War was declared.
It follows the only time Churchill and Chamberlain met socially with their wives, Clementine and Anne.
The play imagines what might have been said at this meeting, with Chamberlain's efforts to negotiate peace with Hitler shattered and Churchill's warnings of the Nazi threat vindicated.
It is presented as a radio play live on stage, with the setting being a radio studio and the sound effects created live on stage.
Cast includes Brian Capron as Neville Chamberlain, Tim Hudson as Winston Churchill, Corrinne Wicks as Clementine Churchill, and Frazer Hines as Inches, the Churchills' butler.
Tickets are £25 for full price and £23 for concessions, with a £1 booking fee per ticket.
They can be purchased from the box office during opening hours (10am to 4.30pm weekdays) or over the phone.
