An award-winning comedian, writer, and broadcaster has announced a new tour for 2025.
Mark Steel, best known for his BBC Radio 4 show and regular appearances on BBC One's Have I Got News for You, will be hitting the road with The Leopard in My House.
The tour will begin on February 27 in Bracknell and conclude on June 20 in Portsmouth.
He is set to come to Basingstoke and perform at the Haymarket on March 6, 2025.
The show will revolve around his battle with throat cancer, which he is winning.
Mr Steel said: "This show is the story of my year, of wonderful characters and often tricky but bafflingly positive experiences.
"Doing the show doesn’t quite make me glad that it happened, but it definitely makes up for it quite a bit."
His description of the moment the consultant told him about his condition is far from conventional.
He said: "The consultant had told me he was confident I had throat cancer that had spread into the lymph glands.
"Joyfully, I held his hand and looked up to the heavens like a South American footballer after scoring a goal.
"It was one of the happiest moments of my life."
His unique ability to find humour in challenging situations will be a central theme of the tour.
The show promises a mix of laughter and tears, with his acute political observations and high energy remaining undimmed by his condition.
Tickets for the 2025 tour went on presale on October 24 for venue members and the Off The Kerb mailing list, and general sale tickets became available on October 25.
They can be purchased from his official website.
Mr Steel is a Sony and Writers’ Guild award-winning writer, having penned several books, including Reasons to be Cheerful and What’s Going On? .
He has also been recognised as newspaper columnist of the year.
His writing prowess extends to audio adaptations, with his critically acclaimed stand-up show, Who Do I Think I Am?, adapted for Audible in 2021.
His achievements have cemented his place as a favourite in the UK comedy scene.
He is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News for You and BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, and has presented the BAFTA-nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC Two.
