HERE is a round-up of court cases from Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court from the past week.
A Basingstoke woman who stole items from a number of shops and breached a community order has been told to pay compensation.
Stacie Campbell, 29, of Castle Road, pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol to the value of around £50 from Tesco in Hook on December 20 last year and jointly stealing alcohol and razor blades worth £490 from Sainsbury's in Hook on January 22.
She also stole confectionery worth £120 from Co-op in Basingstoke on February 14.
Campbell pleaded guilty to failing to comply with community protection notice by entering Market Place on April 17 and Festival Place on April 19.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered her to pay a total of £170 compensation.

A man who breached a non-molestation order by sending an email to a Basingstoke woman has been fined thousands of pounds and given a community order.
Alexander Paterson, 47, from Peel, pleaded guilty to sending an email to a woman in Basingstoke on January 12, which he was prohibited from doing by a non-molestation order made by Basingstoke Family Court on September 26 last year.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay £2,700 fine for the offence.
Paterson should undergo a rehabilitation activity for 30 days. He has also been given a restraining order from contacting the victim until March 11, 2026.

A man who was caught drug driving in Basingstoke has been banned
Hristo Lazarov, 22, from Gloucestershire, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes on Western Way in Basingstoke on February 2 when the proportion of cocaine and Benzoylecgonine in his blood exceeded the legal limit.
He had 26b of cocaine and 428mg/L Benzoylecgonine in his blood.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court banned him from driving for 12 months and gave a £600 fine.

A man who was caught with Class A drugs in his possession in Basingstoke has been fined.
David Dobson, 38, of Aldershot, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin (diamorphine) and cocaine on August 23.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay £80 fine and made an order or forfeiture and destruction of cocaine and heroin.

A man who was caught using a mobile while driving on the M3 near Basingstoke has been given penalty points.
Ranjit Singh, 34, of Swan Close in Swindon, pleaded guilty to driving a Scania on the M3 on August 30.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay £153 and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

A Basingstoke man who assaulted a woman in Aldershot has been given a community order.
Andrew Haynes, 38, of Oakridge Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on July 27.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court gave him a community order of rehabilitation activity for 15 days.
Haynes should also do 100 hours of unpaid work. He has also been given a restraining order and he shouldn’t contact the victim until September 15, 2025.

A Basingstoke man who was above the drug driving limit has been banned and fined.
Martin Hannington, 44, of Trinidad Close, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle on Oakridge Road on February 3 when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood was 233mg/L, which exceeded the specified limit.
He was given a 17-month ban and was ordered to pay £1,250 fine.

A Basingstoke drug driver has been disqualified.
Claudiu Toader, 45, of Chivers Close, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle on New Road in Basingstoke on March 15, when the proportion of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood was 8.4mg/L, which exceeded the specified limit.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court banned him for 12 months and fined him £293.
