"It is very pleasing that we have been able to present another £1,000 to Basingstoke and District Young Carers and £750 each to artWell and 1st Basingstoke Beavers."

Mark Rhoades-Brown, the recently installed worshipful master of Elvetham Masonic Lodge, added: "This local support we are able to provide is in addition to £1m distributed by Freemasons annually in Hampshire and Isle of Wight while across the country, and including disaster relief, it may surprise most people that it totals £50m each year."
