TWO men reportedly armed with knives tried to steal a woman's motorcycle in a car park, sparking an appeal for information.

A woman riding a blue Yamaha moped was approached by two men in the residential car park on Gershwin Road, near the Brighton Way junction close to Chopin Road, it was reported to officers. 

The two men were allegedly armed with knives and attempted to steal her motorcycle during the incident, which took place between 7pm and 7.25pm on Tuesday, November 5.

The men fled the scene as they were unsuccessful in stealing the moped.

Hampshire Constabulary are now calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, including the driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra.

A spokesperson said: "Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the incident or any suspicious behaviour? Do you have any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage which could help our investigation?

"Officers would also like to identify the registration of a silver Vauxhall Astra, or similar vehicle, which was seen driving behind a blue Yamaha moped in the Brighton Hill area during this time frame.
