A YOUNG musician who performed in a BBC competition will make his debut with an orchestra in Basingstoke.
Aki Blendis, a standout in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2022 competition at just 14 years of age, will make his debut with the Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra at The Anvil, Basingstoke, on November 17 at 7pm.
Aki will perform Glazunov’s dazzling and virtuosic Violin Concerto, showcasing his fearless talent and remarkable skill, making him a young musician to watch.
The concert will be attended by 240 young musicians from local schools in the Basingstoke area, along with their families, as part of the orchestra's popular Community Classics initiative, which offers free tickets to schools.

These young attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience live classical music up close, sparking inspiration and encouraging a lifelong passion for music.
Ann Henshaw, chair of the Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra, shared her excitement: "We are thrilled to have such a talented young soloist alongside so many aspiring musicians in the same venue.
"This will be a fantastic evening for the next generation of classical musicians and their families.
"Many of our orchestra members were first inspired by attending classical concerts as children, and we hope this experience will be equally impactful for those attending."
