A SUSPECTED drug dealer has been arrested after police seized 25 bags of what they believe to be Class A drugs.

Police stopped a Honda Civic driver while on patrol at around 7pm last night, Sunday, November 10, on Rectory Road in Hook after noticing "suspicious activity."

Upon searching the man and the vehicle, police found £160 in cash, two mobile phones and 25 bags of suspected Class A drugs - all of which were seized at the scene.

A 36-year-old man from Brentford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

He remains in custody while police continue to make enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A man has been arrested after officers found 25 bags of suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Hook last night.

"Officers were on patrol when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a Honda Civic at around 7pm on Sunday 10 November.

"They stopped the vehicle on Rectory Road and carried out a search.

"Officers found 25 bags of suspected Class A drugs, £160 in cash and two mobile phones. All items were seized at the scene.

"A 36-year-old man from Brentford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A and driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

"He remains in custody while our enquiries continue."
