Years ago fireworks were let off just once a year on the 5th of November to mark Guy Fawkes night.
It consisted of a few colourful fireworks, one, two or three quiet, pretty rockets, a Catherine Wheel or two and handheld sparklers.
That's all our parents could afford. But now they are awful and this year has been one of the worst ever for noise around the Berg Estate area with exploding fireworks coming from Buckskin, South Ham and Down Grange.
They started before Halloween and continued all the way through to Remembrance Day, when they started at 5pm and went on till after 9pm, and again on Armistice Day.
No respect whatsoever for the significance of those two days.
And no consideration for residents and their pets.
Our dog is nervous of them but other neighbours have dogs who absolutely terrified.
There should be limited days on which to have fireworks with restrictions to the times and noise.
Can the Council, with the help of our new MP, possibly consider that for future years and give us all a break.
