HERE is a round-up of court cases from Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court from the past week.

A man who stalked a Basingstoke woman has been ordered to pay compensation.

Neil Ford, 49, of Beggarwood, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman and which he knew amounted to the harassment of her.

He pleaded guilty to texting her phone against her wishes and attending her home address where he observed her movements between January 18 and 21.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay £200 fine and £100 compensation.

Ford was also given a restraining order. He shouldn’t contact the victim directly or indirectly or go to her address until November 2026.

A Basingstoke man who drove a car without licence and third party insurance has been fined and given penalty points.

Thiago Barboza, 41, of Woburn Gardens, pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot on Roman Road in Basingstoke on January 1, without a driver's licence.

Aldershot Magistrates’ Court endorsed his driving record with six penalty points. He was also disqualified for six months and ordered to pay £333 fine.

A man from Hook has bene given a community order for assault of an emergency worker.

Luke Mathews, 34, of Dunnett Close in Hartley Wintney, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable in Basingstoke on March 20.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay £140 fine, £100 compensation and undergo rehabilitation activity for a maximum of 15 days.

A man has been banned for three years for drug driving in Basingstoke.

Cosmin Negru, 40, of Glebe Lane in Worting, pleaded guilty to driving a car on Timberlake Road on April 3 when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood was not less than 83mg/L.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court fined him £120 and disqualified him from driving for three years.

A woman has been fined for assaulting another woman in Basingstoke.

Tia Mills, 20, of Reading, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Basingstoke on February 17.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court fined her £160 and ordered her to pay £100 compensation.

A Basingstoke man has been fined for driving a car without licence and third-party insurance.

Richard Plackett, 57, of Cropmark Way, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Index on the A303 in Barton Stacey on June 21 while he was disqualified from holding a driving licence or insurance.

He also pleaded guilty to not having an insurance.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court endorsed his driving record with zero points and disqualified him further for six months.

Plackett should also pay £960 fine.

A man has been fined for possession of cannabis and using threatening behaviour.

Leo Rushton, 19, of no fixed abode in Aldershot, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour likely to cause harassment in Basingstoke on July 21.

He also had in his possession a wrap of cannabis. Rushton also pleaded guilty to resisting a constable in execution of his duty on the same day.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court fined him £80 and ordered for forfeiture and destruction of Class B drugs.

A man who stole food items and Champagne bottles from stores in Basingstoke has been jailed.

Steven Dossett, of no fixed abode in Basingstoke district, pleaded guilty to stealing food items worth £178 from Iceland on September 16 and three Champagne bottles worth £275 from M7S on August 16.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court jailed him for seven days for failure to complying with requirements of post custodial sentence supervision. No compensation order was made due to limited means of the defendant.
