Chennai Express in Basingstoke has been named the number one Indian restaurant in Hampshire on TripAdvisor.
The list has been made based on travellers' ratings and reviews, according to TripAdvisor.
Chennai Express general manager Kendra Dhakal said the recognition highlights the culinary talent in the town and the high standards of service provided by the team at Chennai Express.
"As far I know, this is the first time ever that any Indian restaurant from Basingstoke has been rated as the number 1 Indian restaurant in Hampshire," he said.

"It should be noted that there are more than 350 Indian restaurants all over Hampshire."

Two other Basingstoke Indian restaurants —Spices and Spirits and Elai —are also featured in the top 10 list.
Chennai Express was established in November 2018 by entrepreneurs and chef-patrons Sagar Barlawar and Vamsi Madireddy.
With a mission to bring authentic South Indian street food to the South of England, the restaurant quickly became a favourite among locals and visitors alike.
Building on the success of its Basingstoke location, Chennai Express expanded its reach, opening a second restaurant in Fleet in 2022.
Like its predecessor, the Fleet branch has also garnered rave reviews and currently holds the title of best among all restaurants in its town.
