A Basingstoke care home hosted an intergenerational playgroup for residents and members of the community.

St Thomas Care Home, in St Thomas Close, welcomed a group from Merton Pre-School on Thursday, November 14.

The event involved an afternoon of creativity and music with residents at the home.

"The residents at our home had a lot of fun on the day, and love our young visitors.

"The benefits of intergenerational activities are an incredibly beneficial and enriching experience for both old and young people."

St Thomas Care Home is managed by Barchester Healthcare.

The care home provides dementia care for 67 residents, including both respite and long-term stays.
