A chilling account by a Basingstoke woman has raised concerns among residents.

According to a post shared in a Facebook group, a runner was allegedly followed by a red 4x4 vehicle near Barber Road, close to Standford Road, in Brighton Hill on Sunday night, November 17.

The woman managed to escape unharmed and recounted that a man in the vehicle stopped and asked if she was “Rachel.”

When she said no, the man reportedly offered her a lift, which she declined.

Moments later, four men allegedly exited the vehicle and approached her.

Fortunately, she ran away from the spot and hid, eventually reaching safety.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.07am (18 November) to a report of a suspicious incident in Basingstoke.
