PLANS to demolish a stable and replace it with a similar structure plus an outdoor swimming pool have been submitted to the council.
An application to demolish the stable/store at Haydown House, Weston Corbett, and replace it with another featuring ancillary rooms and an outdoor swimming pool were validated by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on Wednesday, November 20.
A heritage statement from Vesta Architects Ltd explains that Haydown House is a detached chalet bungalow of "traditional design."
"The house is of masonry construction under a clay-tiled gable roof. There is also a timber stable/storage block to the West. The site is located within the Weston Corbett and Weston Patrick Conservation Area."

The application seeks planning permission for the demolition of a timber stable/storage block and erection of a replacement link detached stable/storage block with ancillary rooms.
There is also an outdoor swimming pool with dwarf boundary wall.
The proposal will form a "respectful pitched roof building that will compliment the host dwelling and the wider conservation area."
"Materials have been carefully selected with the use of natural products like timber and flint."
Some of the materials proposed for construction of the walls include black timber cladding, brick and flint, brick, while the black corrugated roof would also feature plain tiles.
