Basingstoke is set to welcome a new padel tennis centre this December, courtesy of Padel People, a company already established with a centre in Wimbledon.
The new centre, located at Winterthur House near Basingstoke Railway Station, will officially open on December 16, offering space for two doubles courts and one singles court.
Padel tennis, a sport combining elements of tennis and squash, has been gaining popularity in the UK, with more centres and players taking up the game.
George Sandbach, co-owner of Padel People, shared his excitement about the expansion: “We’re thrilled to bring padel tennis to Basingstoke and offer more opportunities for people to enjoy this fast-growing sport.”
The Basingstoke centre is part of Padel People’s ongoing growth, with a new facility also opening in Sussex soon.
Players can book courts through the Padel People app or via the company’s website at padelpeople.co.uk
