A Basingstoke woman who stole a car and was involved in shoplifting incidents has been given a suspended sentence.
Mary-Anne Mitchell, 39, of Vivaldi Close, pleaded guilty to stealing a Ford Focus in Basingstoke on September 29.
She was also charged with driving while disqualified and driving without third party insurance.
Mitchell also pleaded guilty to stealing items like stand mirror, Ted Baker perfume, and a bottle of wine from Savers Health & Beauty in Basingstoke on September 5, and alcohol and meat from Tesco Stores in Basingstoke on August 16.
She was also charged with refusing to provide a sample for Class A drug test at Northern Police Investigation Centre in Jays Close on August 11.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered to imprison Mitchell for four weeks, which is suspended for 18 months.
She should also pay £150 compensation.
The court said that the offences are so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
She was also given a drug rehabilitation order and she has to provide her samples for 12 months.
Mitchell has to undertake rehabilitation activity for 20 days.
She is further disqualified from driving for 24 months.

A Basingstoke man who was caught with a quantity of cannabis has been fined.
Graeme Walton, 57, of Lundy Close, pleaded guilty to possession of a quantity of cannabis at Northern Police Investigation Centre in Basingstoke on October 10.
The court ordered for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. He should also pay £80 fine.

A man has been jailed for exposing his genitals in a public place.
Abdelrahman Badoor, 23, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to intentionally exposing his genitals in Basingstoke on August 21.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court jailed him for 20 weeks saying the offences are so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified and due to the vulnerable victims involved.
Badoor should also pay £156 surcharge.

A Basingstoke drink driver has been disqualified and fined.
Olayinka Ogundepo, 33, of Lime Tree Way in Chineham pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle on Albert Yard in Basingstoke on October 27 when the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 76mg. The legal limit is 35mg.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court banned him from driving for 18 months. He will get 18 weeks reduction if he undertakes a course. He was also ordered to pay £135 fine.

A Basingstoke man who drove a car while being disqualified has been jailed.
Echard Bepat-Woollett, 32, of Scotney Road, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen Berlingo in Basingstoke on July 22.
He was disqualified from driving in 2023 for a previous offence.
He also pleaded guilty to driving without a third-party insurance.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court jailed him for six weeks and banned him further for one year and 20 days.
His driving record has also been endorsed.

A man from Tadley has been given a community order for assaulting a woman.
Seymour Thompson, 51, of Bramley pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Basingstoke on February 10.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered Thompson to undertake 80 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
