Facing Haslemere 1s, the Ladies 2s battled hard but narrowly lost 3-2. After conceding two early goals, Clare Griffiths fired home a stunning short corner strike, and captain Liv Wade coolly converted a penalty stroke following a clever play by Fi Parker. Despite the loss, their determined performance showed promise for future games.
The Ladies 3s were triumphant in their 3-2 away win against Hamble. Goals from Sarah Shearing, Erin Chambers—set up by a beautiful baseline run from Kirsten Hazelwood - and Janine White with a penalty flick, highlighted their attacking flair. A challenging match saw them rise above questionable umpiring and maintain their focus for a hard-earned victory.
Against Chichester, the Ladies 4s endured a heartbreaking 1-0 loss, conceding in the final moments through an unlucky deflection. While the result didn’t go their way, their defensive grit kept the game competitive throughout.
In a high-scoring draw, the Ladies 5s finished 3-3 against Portsmouth 3s. Goals from Charlotte Hazelwood, Emily Romain, and Ellie Youngs showcased the team’s attacking capabilities in an entertaining match.
Spreading Christmas cheer both on and off the pitch, the Ladies 6s delivered an electrifying 3-3 draw against Portsmouth. Tash Maccallum bagged a brace and Caz Adamthwaite added another. With a standout performances from Isabel Lloyd in goal and Lou Crocker in defense anchored the team’s spirited display. The match was a festive celebration of teamwork and camaraderie.
An action-packed encounter saw the Men’s 1s draw 3-3 with Oxford University, with Andy Pett scoring all three goals. Their attacking energy and resilience kept them competitive against strong opposition.
In a narrow 2-1 defeat to Haslemere, the Men’s 2s showed grit and determination. Dominic Ripton-Palmer’s well-taken goal kept the game tight, but the team couldn’t find an equalizer despite their spirited efforts.
The Men’s 3s shone in a 4-2 win over Chichester, with goals from Dharmik Patel, Dave Stones, Dec Nicholls, and Ollie Walker. Their clinical finishing and solid teamwork were key to this impressive result.
Away at Chichester, the Men’s 4s played out a 0-0 draw in a tactical battle that ended their unbeaten streak. A commanding midfield performance from Gareth Lloyd earned him Man of the Match honors, while Luke Warren and Matt Freddi anchored the defense. The result showcased the team’s depth and resilience despite missing key players – and keeping their unbeaten season’s record intact!
In foggy conditions, the Men’s 6s fell 5-0 to Haslemere. Tim Heavey’s heroic goalkeeping kept the scoreline respectable, with his standout saves providing a silver lining to a challenging day for the team.
A well-earned 4-2 victory marked an excellent day for the Men’s 7s. Chris Harman’s hat trick and Reece Chambers’ back-post deflection showcased their attacking prowess. The return of Sion Turion added strength to a team performance characterized by teamwork and composure.
The U14 Boys showed incredible resilience in a thrilling away match against Salisbury. Despite an early two-goal deficit, the team’s determination shone through as they fought back to a 5-5 scoreline by halftime. The boys’ commitment to playing purposeful, attacking hockey and building from the back was evident throughout the second half. Though the match ended 8-6 to Salisbury, the game was fiercely competitive to the final whistle, and the boys can take pride in their relentless effort and teamwork.
The U14 Girls delivered an outstanding 3-2 victory against a strong Chichester side in challenging rainy conditions. A dynamic midfield trio of Cat, Evie, and Emilia controlled the game, while Amelia’s two goals, including a late match-winner, capped a brilliant all-round performance. Emilia’s stunning solo goal, coupled with resolute defending from Honor, Olivia, Luci, and Isobel, and Abbie’s excellent goalkeeping, showcased the team’s grit and skill. Coaches praised their work rate, movement off the ball, and the cohesive team effort that secured a memorable win.
