A CHILDREN’S nursery in Basingstoke has received a flawless inspectors’ report.
Star Nursery, based in Chiltern Primary School, in Chiltern Way, was given an “outstanding” verdict after an Ofsted inspection in October.
The report praised staff, the well-behaved children and facilities.
It read: “Overall, the children in the setting are very well-looked after and supported by skilled, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff.”
In particular, the inspector recognised how the nursery, which has 140 children, encouraged the children’s curiosity, provided a wide variety of experience tasks and allowed them the opportunity to make progress in the various areas of learning and development.
The report noted: “Consequently, the children are prepared exceptionally well for their move to school and for their future learning.”
To celebrate the glowing report, the nursery threw a party, inviting parents, children and staff plus some VIP guests – Bison ice hockey players, goalie David Lawrence, defence Sam Zajac and coach Steve Moria.
Nursery manager Theresa Saunders said it was an emotional experience to find the nursery had done so well. She said: “The inspector did comment on my management skills, but I do believe we have all played a part in this.”
