Thieves stole a pair of silver Audi cars after breaking into a Chineham house through the letter box.
The crooks struck in the early hours of Thursday. They entered the house in Kings Pightle, by putting an implement through the letterbox and opening the door.
Once inside they stole electronic items and the keys for the two Audis before driving them away.
The cars were later found abandoned in Reading.
A green Ford Focus car found abandoned in Kings Pightle was confirmed as stolen from Reading and it is believed the burglars used this car to travel to Chineham.
PC Ewan Gardner, from the Basingstoke Priority Crime Unit, said: “It seems the offenders used a stolen car to travel to the area, abandoned it, and then entered a house to steal two more cars and returned to Reading.
“We believe the burglary happened at about 2am, so we would be very interested to hear from anyone who saw any of the vehicles described being driven in the area, or saw anyone acting suspiciously during the early hours of Thursday morning to contact us.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Gardner at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
