A PAIR of thugs left a man with serious injuries after they attacked him near a parade of shops in a Basingstoke suburb.
The attack took place in Popley between 11pm and 11.15pm on Friday, November 27, as the victim walked with a woman in Abbey Road.
Two men approached the victim before punching and kicking him to the floor. Police say the man suffered serious facial injuries and needed treatment at Basingstoke hospital.
Detective Constable Catherine Atherton, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This assault happened at a time when other people may have been making their way home and someone may have seen something.
“The victim suffered nasty injuries and we would ask anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible.”
Both attackers are described as being in their late teens, white, around 5ft 6ins tall and with short hair.

*A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
