Sir.–I would just like to put my point of view across to all the Bison fans out there. I am the goal judge at the bar end of the rink, and Saturday’s game against Guildford Flames was probably one of the worst games I have ever witnessed as far as refereeing goes.

Not only did Miss Joy Tottman decide to ignore most of the tripping fouls against us (a lot), but when the game went down to the wire with penalty shots to decide the winner, she refused to believe the puck had gone through a hole in the net, which is where I should have come in.

It is my job as a registered official to assist the ref on suspect goals. What did she do? She ignored me.

I’m not a die-hard fan. I don’t belong to the supporters’ club. I don’t follow the team around from rink to rink. I just enjoy ice hockey and try to be as unbiased as possible when doing my job.

If the quality of refereeing continues in this vein, then I can forsee the end of the number one sport in our town as fans become more and more disgruntled. I just hope that Planet Ice, Steve Moria, etc put in an official complaint, and if they want my input they’ve got it.

Guys, you all played out of your skins on Saturday, and as far as I’m concerned you won, not Guildford.
