POLICE have issued advice to Christmas revellers after a 29-year-old woman was subjected to an indecent assault in Basingstoke town centre.
The attack took place between 1.15am and 2am in the early hours of Saturday, December 5, as the woman walked in Potters Walk, near Festival Place.
The man, who wore a green top, jeans and a beanie style hat, approached and indecently assaulted her before walking away.
PC Clyde Jerrard, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “There would have been a number of people in this area at the time making their way home from the town centre.
“We are particularly keen to speak to two women who stopped to ask the victim if she was all right.
“We would remind everyone to plan your night out this festive season and ensure that you know how you are getting home. Try to avoid becoming separated from friends and stick to well lit roads and pathways.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Jerrard at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
