Sir.–How nice it is to see employees of the AWE Tadley wearing their bright yellow jackets (for health and safety reasons I assume). They are also now compelled to wear cycle helmets if riding a bicycle to work.
Now that the main road through Tadley has a cycle lane on the same path as a pedestrian walk, would it not be sensible for AWE cyclists (and maybe all cyclists) to use a bicycle bell? It is very offputting to be walking along the pavement and suddenly have cyclists swooping by.
I know this would be hard to enforce for other cyclists but the AWE could enforce it quite easily when they are checking on employees wearing the correct jacket and/or helmets.
