A ROBBER with a knife threatened a teenager in a Basingstoke underpass.
The robbery took place during the day, just before 1pm on Wednesday, January 11, at the underpass in New Road, near the Caston’s Yard car park.
A man in a dark hooded-top forced the 17-year-old victim to hand over his wallet and mobile phone, before leaving the underpass.
He is described as white, aged in his 20s, of broad build and spoke with a Polish accent.
Hampshire Constabulary has now released an efit of the man.
Detective Constable Natalie Stallworthy, at Basingstoke CID, said: “This was a knifepoint robbery which occurred in broad daylight in a busy area of town, so someone must have seen something.
“Students from Queen Mary’s College regularly use this route to walk into the town centre, so may have seen a man similar to the e-fit picture.”
Anyone with information can contact DC Stallworthy at Basingstoke police station on 101.
