A DRIVER has been fined hundreds of pounds and given points on their licence for driving at 61mph on the motorway.
Anita Anita Cox appeared in North Hampshire magistrates court on June 10 after being caught speeding on the M27 between junction four and five on January 1, this year.
Although the maximum speed on the motorway is usually 70mph, the limit has been reduced to 50mph on some stretches of the road while works to upgrade it to a smart motorway are carried out.
The 49-year-old from Outram Road in Southsea was caught speeding in a Volkswagen where a temporary 50mph speed restriction is in place.
The court issued a fine of £76 pounds for speeding on top of a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and £90 in costs- totalling £200 altogether.
Cox was also given three points on here driving licence.
