A BASINGSTOKE recycling point is out of use after it was destroyed by a fire on Thursday evening (June 26).
Basingstoke Council posted to social media, informing residents that the Stratton Park recycling bank, next to Kempshott Village Hall had been destroyed.
It suggested the incident was arson, following "similar" instances of "mindless vandalism" at the park last summer.
The tweet read: "A paper and cardboard recycling bank at Stratton Park was destroyed by fire last night, a repeat of a similar incident last year. Police are aware.
"While the bank is out of use remember-paper and flattened cardboard can be put in your green bin for kerbside collection."
Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
